January and February went past in a flash so I only just got to deliver the Blankets of Love to the John Hunter Hospital yesterday. I handed over
30 beautiful little quilts for families in need. Apart from the original reason for these quilts...the need has grown to another area as well. This drive was originally started to help grieving families of a still born child or one that had passed away shortly after birth... but thanks to the advances in medicine and science that number is reducing. These Blankets of Love are also making a difference in another way as well. The family of any baby that is a
long stay in the natal unit is made feel more at home and the crib more "personal" by using one of these quilts on their tiny beds. Maree has told me over the phone that "i
t helps make the burden and frustration of not being able to take your precious baby home a little more bearable".
I think if these
Blankets of Love make a small difference to a new parent, in need of some "special" help... that's a great reason for me to donate them!
I hope you all feel the same!
Thank You goes to
